Why doctors say one must complete a full course of antibiotics for 5-7 days if started?
Because doctors have made a pact with drug companies and are sharing their profits...????NOoooooo

1. antibiotics are drugs which act on infectious micro-organisms, trying to kill them or at least inactivate them. The dosage prescribed are the level that will reach a concentration in blood sufficient to kill around 50% organisms only after 4 doses...ie only after 4 doses 50% organisms will be in
inhibited.100% inhibition is impossible.But >95% inhibition will require 5-7 days....so if antibiotics are stopped in one or 2 days, only 5-10% of the micro-organisms would have been dead, the remaining continue to grow.Most of the times they grow slowly and silently so externally it appears infection has gone.But they remain dormant and make a big war in due time.And in this course of time, they would have equipped themselves with machineries to tackle against the antibiotics previously it has been exposed with. So the previous antibiotic will become useless next time. We are forced to go to the next level which may be unaffordable to many.
2. Only 2-3 of antibiotics with acceptable side effects, are less than 5 Rs. We are now into a stage of resistance to all these and using antibiotics ranging 8-10 Rs per tablet. If these are also misused and made resistant, we will go into a stage of spending 500rs for medicines alone, for a simple cold.
3. Only 15-20 antibiotics types are available now for routine use.
4. Only less than 10 higher level antibiotics are available now. They all cost up to 3000 Rs now....These are used only for severe cases, surgeries etc...
5. At a later stage, when a life/death situation arises, no antibiotic will be effective. There is no point in crying and cursing at that stage.
So if u r prescribed an antibiotic of rs.10/tablet twice daily for 5 days, (100 Rs for 5 days), please either finish the course or don’t start even a single tablet and leave it to nature to take its course.....BECAUSE, AN INCOMPLETE ANTIBIOTIC COURSE WILL FOLLOW YOU LIKE A CURSE
